This warm plus 4C sunny day was almost windless and perfect for both shooting and spectators. However the warm conditions made the tracks soft and slow and only three total competitors shot clean.

Men's 15K

Kryuko's time of 39:05.3, with one penalty put him 1:15 ahead of Silver medalist Anton Dudchenko of Ukraine, who also had one penalty on a virtually windless, sunny day. The Bronze medal went to Roman Yeremin of Kazakhstan with two penalties, 1:40.6 back.

Fourth place went to the only man in the field who shot clean, Dominic Reiter of Germany, 1:44.1 back. Emilien Jacquelin of France finished fifth with two penalties, 2:09.5 back, with sixth place going to Viktor Plitcev of Russia, with two penalties, 2:35.8 back.
